Kaleidoscope Presents Community Block Party & Showcase 2008 Events
Kaleidoscope, a community youth arts program, will host a community block party on Monday, May 19th from 4-6 P.M. at their LC Curry Studio located at 1350 Durbin Dr. The community block party is free to attend and welcome to all. Come and enjoy food, music, art and each other.
Kaleidoscope will also host their final showcase event of the Spring, highlighting music, poetry, dance, photography and theatre projects of Kaleidoscope youth on Friday, May 30, 2008 at 7:30 P.M. at the Downing University Center Auditorium on the campus of Western Kentucky University. Ticket prices are $10.00 for adults, $5.00 for children 6 to 12, and children under 6 get in free. Tickets are available at the Kaleidoscope Studios on 1350 Durbin Dr. and at the WKU ALIVE Center for Community Partnerships at 1818 31W Bypass.
Kaleidoscope is a community-based youth development program that celebrates the value of young people and the power of love. They seek to bring about positive transformation by creating an environment where youth can engage important issues through the arts and contribute back to society. Programs at Kaleidoscope include Youth Art Teams, Community Outreach, Voices4Justice and Service-Learning.

The ALIVE Center depends on maintaining close working relationships with agencies and organizations in the Bowling Green-Warren County area to gather up-to-date information to share with the public. If you have program information for the online service directory or if you wish to promote volunteer opportunities and community events, please contact the ALIVE Center at 270-782-0082 or e-mail alivebg@wku.edu. Also, service providers are invited to bring brochures to the ALIVE Center for display and distribution, and to sign up to use the facility free of charge for meetings and workshops.

Barren River Area Safe Space, Inc. (BRASS) is collecting used cell phones. The phones will be reprogrammed to call 911 and will be distributed to victims of domestic violence who are in dangerous situations.
